John 20:10-31: Mary, Disciples, Thomas, Purpose (Adam Richardson)
Context: It's Sunday morning on the original Resurrection day (which we celebrate as Easter), and Jesus meets with Mary Magdalene and the Disciples - and later Thomas...
Text: Read John 20:10-31. Don’t rush. Feel the story. What stands out to you?

In chapter 20, Jesus:
CONQUERS Death (V1-9)
CALLS Mary (V10-18)
COMMISSIONS Disciples (V19-23)
COMFORTS Thomas (V24-29)
How is this a picture of our Christian life?
V10-18: In all four gospels, Jesus appears first to Mary. And in fact here (v17) gives Mary a message for the Disciples (!) What does this tell us about Jesus?
V16: Why do you think Mary recognizes Jesus only when He calls her name? (see John 10:2-4)
V17: Mary is grieving, then encounters the risen Christ, but also discovers He will not be remaining with them. What emotions might all that evoke? How does this help us in our grieving the loss of loved ones?
V19-23: What is the main thing Christ brought the disciples? How can we experience that today?
V20: What does it say about God's glory that Jesus' scars are part of his glorified, resurrection body?
V21: Why is it significant that when addressing his disciples, Jesus combines a statement about His peace alongside his sending them on mission?
V24-29: Somebody speak up for Thomas - what can be said in his defense!? In what ways can we identify with Thomas?
Growth: What is a key application you take from this passage / message?
Prayer: Practice again this pattern for prayer together:

John 21:1-17: Feed My Sheep (Will Rutt)
Context: After the initial resurrection appearances, over a period of 40 days Jesus meets with the disciples several times - here is one significant dialogue between Jesus and Peter...
Text: Read John 21:1-17. Don’t rush. What stands out to you?
V1-3: Why do you think the disciples went back to fishing?
V5-6: Why do you think Jesus gave them a huge catch of fish?
V9-10: Jesus was already roasting bread and fish (V13), and yet invites them to bring some of theirs. What does this show us about God's design for us?
V15-17: Some of the most well-known verses in the New Testament. Why do you think Jesus has this dialogue with Peter? How might it address Jesus' relationship with Peter and help Peter heal from the past and strengthen for the future?
